Erstes Feature Pack für Windows Vista

Microsoft hat laut einem Knowledge-Base-Eintrag (KB942567) von 16. April das erste Feature Pack für Windows Vista fertig gestellt. Unter Feature Packs versteht der Hersteller laut eigener Definition “neue Produktfunktionen, die außerhalb des Kontexts einer Produktveröffentlichung bereitgestellt werden und normalerweise in der nächsten Vollversion des Produkts enthalten sind”.

Mit dem ersten für Windows Vista rüstet Microsoft den im Betriebssystem enthaltenen Bluetooth-Stack auf: Vista soll dann Bluetooth 2.1 sowie das Universal-Pairing-Profil unterstützen – entsprechende Funk-Hardware vorausgesetzt. Das Service Pack 1 für Windows Vista ist Installationsvoraussetzung, doch im Unterschied zu diesem steht das Feature Pack bislang nicht zum öffentlichen Download bereit.
